THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF REMEMBRANCE OF THE SHOAH AT THE “LUCIO CAMPIANI” CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC IN MANTUA

AN OPPORTUNITY FOR KNOWLEDGE, DISSEMINATION AND ENHANCEMENT OF JEWISH CULTURE

The civil commitment linked to the International Day of Remembrance of the Shoah strongly starts in Mantua from the date of establishment of the same day.

The Province of Mantua therefore constitutes the Memory Coordination Table that involves the Capital City, Mantua Jewish Community, Sucar Drom Association, ANPI, all the municipalities of the provincial territory, educational institutions and cultural institutions, primarily among them, the Mantua Institute of Contemporary History that will assume over time the scientific direction. Mantua, a city and province with a strong Jewish presence in history, has been hard hit by the Shoah and wants to give the celebration of Remembrance not only the meaning of commemoration, but also the further value of the occasion of historical research, artistic and cultural production, and knowledge, dissemination and enhancement of Jewish culture.

The aim of the initiatives is the civic growth of the community in the maximum involvement of young people and citizenship: a unique experience, in some respects, on the national scene.
