ANDREA ADAMI, Associate professor at Politecnico di Milano, After the studies of Architecture at the University IUAV of Venice, he earned a Ph.D. in Geodesy and Geomatics at the Politecnico di Milano.
From 2003 to 2015 he collaborated with the Photogrammetry Laboratory of the University IUAV, first, and then, with the VHLab (Virtual Heritage Laboratory) of CNR ITABC in Rome.
In 2015 his project BIM for Cultural Heritage: a geomatic question too was selected and funded by SIR (Scientific Independence of young Researcher) national projects. Since then he works as a researcher at the Politecnico di Milano and teaches in academic courses and workshops.
His activity is focused on the fields of survey and documentation of Architectural and Cultural Heritage with the most cutting-edge digital technologies such as laser scanning and digital multi-image photogrammetry from the ground and UAV. He deals with innovative approaches to architecture management (HBIM – Historic Building Information Modelling), also through a master course of which he is co-director. He is also interested in historical cartography as a documentary source and metric information about the past.
Member of MantovaLab, research laboratory of Mantua Campus of Politecnico di Milano, he carries out its activity for organizations, institutions, and private or within research contracts.
During the years he could work on many architectural and archaeological masterpieces from the Basilica of San Marco in Venice, some Palladian churches and villa, the architecture on Giulio Romano in Mantova, the archaeological hidden heritage in Naples in the excavation for the new metro till the pavement of the Holy Sepulchre Basilica in Jerusalem.
He organizes educational workshops and academic exchanges between Politecnico di Milano, Technion Institute of Technology and Shenkar College of Tel Aviv on the topic of new architectural design into historical context (Mantua, Acre, Verona, etc).
He has held numerous courses on the representation techniques for architecture and landscape and on the survey and documentation of historical and cultural heritage at University Iuav of Venice and Politecnico di Milano.
He is author of numerous scientific publications in his field of research.
