Jutta Dick studied history and German language and literature with a focus on German-Jewish literary history at the Albertus – Magnus – University of Cologne. 1984 to 1986 she was research assistant at the Memorial Old Synagogue Essen. 1987 – 1994 she worked as a researcher and editor for the the Salomon Ludwig Steinheim Institute for German-Jewish History at the University of Duisburg. She edited various collections of letters from the Varnhagen Collection/Biblioteka Jagiellonska Krakow. In 1993 she edited together with Marina Sassenberg the Encyclopedia “Jewish Women in the 19th and 20th Century”. Since 1995, Jutta Dick has been director of the Moses Mendelssohn Akademie Halberstadt with the Berend Lehmann, Museum | Museum of Jewish History and Culture (from 2001) on the development of the Historic Jewish,Quarter in Halberstadt. In autumn 2021, the new permanent exhibition of the Berend Lehmann Museum opened at the two locations “Klaussynagoge” and Mikwenhaus”.

She is expert on museology, research and preservation.
