Dora Liscia Bemporad is s a retired associate professor of  Modern Art and History of Decorative Arts at the Department di Studi Archeologici, Geografici, Artistici e dello Spettacolo (SAGAS) of University of Florence.  She founded in 1981 the Jewish Museum in Florence and she is still the director. She is author of more than two hundred essays and books on minor arts in Italy and in particular on the history of Renaissance and Modern jewelry.  Since her studies on her graduation thesis in 1973, she has established herself as an international reference point in the field of the history of Jewish art.
