Susanne Urban studied History and German Literature and did her Doctorate at the Moses-Mendelssohn-Center in Jewish Studies. From 1990 to 2004 and 2007 to 2009 in several departments in the Jewish Museum Frankfurt am Main. 1994 to 2004 co-editor of the Jewish journal TRIBÜNE. 2004 Fellow researcher at the International Institute for Holocaust Research, Yad Vashem/ Jerusalem. 2004 to 2009 Associate at the International School for Holocaust Studies, Yad Vashem/Jerusalem. 2009 to November 2015 Head of Research and Education Department at the International Tracing Service Bad Arolsen. November 2015 to December 2021 Managing Director of the SchUM-Cities Speyer, Worms, Mainz e.V.; the ShUM-Sites were inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage in July 2021.
