ONLINE Moreshet JHN Seminar in London
“JEWISH HERITAGE TOURISM”
The fifth JHN Moreshet Thematic Seminar – in London – will take place on Wednesday 1st December 2021 in an online version. The Seminar is going to focus on “Jewish Heritage Tourism”, dealing with different aspects related to this specific type of tourism. The online event will give the opportunity, through keynote presentations and case studies, to learn and identify the possibilities, outline problems and evaluate solutions in the area of tourism connected with Jewish Heritage.
The Seminar working sessions on 1st December are divided into morning and afternoon blocks. The morning session will begin with a review of the notion of Jewish Heritage Tourism and relate to the ongoing impact of covid, followed by presentations on models of educational tourism in Holocaust affected countries. The afternoon session will begin with a presentation on new thinking in heritage tourism as reflected in the Venice experience, followed by heritage tourism case studies from several countries including Turkey, and Romania and England, concluding with a review of the impact and possibilities of the digital revolution. The presentations will evaluate both good practices and lessons to be learned. At the end of each of the sessions, a concluding discussion will be held.
