ONLINE Moreshet JHN Seminar in Krakow

“Intangible Jewish Heritage – preservation, interpretation and celebration of heritage”

The fourth Moreshet Thematic Seminar – in Krakow – took place on 25 October 2021 in an online version. The Seminar was focused on “Intangible Jewish Heritage”, dealing with aspects related  to preservation, interpretation and celebration of this specific type of heritage. The online event gave the opportunity, through the case studies, to learn and identify the possibilities, outline problems and evaluate solutions in the area of Jewish heritage.

The Seminar working sessions were divided into morning and afternoon blocks. The morning session was concentrated on the general introduction to the notion of Intangible Jewish Heritage and the role of Museums in this matter. The presentations evaluated both good practices and lessons to be learned. The second session was dedicated to the review of case studies and the analysis of cultural events/ festivals as a form of Intangible Heritage celebration. At the end of the session a roundtable discussion was held.
